At Rockisland in Rimini, way out on a long jetty, this foghorn sounded regularly. Between songs, it gave the band a reference D#. They thought it might be a boat about to crash into the club!

Next night at Rockisland club in Rimini, it was more of a disco crowd, many staying seated, but the stage and production were fabulous;

Members of the local band P.O.P. (Philosophy of Watermelon - think erotic connotations) have been following and publicizing the Sex Slaves for over two years, and were honored to have them play at their local rock venue Loch Ness Pub.

Bolzano/Bozen Italy

We stopped Monday for the night in this Tyrol city, to visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology and the 5000-year-old corpse that was found in the Alps in 1991. I stayed at a hotel in town, the Slaves found a cheaper one just across the river. All public signs are bilingual here, as Tyrol was always part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, till The Allies gave it to Italy during WW I in exchange for joining the war on their side.



Before leaving town Tuesday morning, we visited the museum, and checked out an old castle (Castel Roncolo / Schloß Runkelstein) just up the road.

The drive from Germany down to Italy took us through Austria, where the Alps are awesome in the clouds. Just a little taste:

On the way from the bed-and-breakfast in Neubrandenburg, Germany, the Slaves spotted an old abandoned castle and decided to shoot footage for a video of "Blood Lust".

On Tuesday (while I was on a plane to Berlin), the Slaves were treated to a boat outing with Hanna's dad, and visited an ancient castle on an island.

The day after the show, Lundo and the Sex Slaves part ways for a few days.


I stayed at the Gothenburg hostel two more nights, flew to Berlin Tuesday.

After a 16-hour drive in the rain from Amsterdam, we arrived around 6AM at the summer house of Hanna Torreson's parents on the island of Tjörn, near the town of Skärhamn.

We visited another coffee shop in Amsterdam. Eric's remark "I'm not touchin that shit" refers to the Psilocybe Colombiana truffles I gobbled up, but we got some grass (without the added tobacco the Tilburg stuff had).



We then spent the day visiting the Van Gogh Museum (and Eric took in the Rijsmuseum as well). Here's his report from later that night:

Arrival

I arrived in London Wed. morning, spent the day getting oriented, working websites in my City Road Travelodge, and trying to get my iPhone cracked to let me install a European SIM card.

The boys arrived this morning (Thursday), and by the time I rushed back out to Heathrow to meet them (in order to be listed as a driver on their van rental contract), they were done with that, so Del drove the VW. After stopping at a mall to buy a GPS unit, it took 4 (FOUR) hours to get back to town as the A40 was closed at one point and we sat and sat in traffic (enabling Eric and J to snooze a bit). The Slaves are staying with friends in a flat up in Camden Town, where Eric and I grabbed some English food at what turned out to be a lovely English gay bar. Tonight they're busy preparing merch, and removing the rear seat from the van to make room for gear.

Early tomorrow, I take the tube back up to Camden, and we visit Budget to leave the seat for a month and add me to the driver list, pick up gear from Gibson, and drop it off at Hope & Anchor well before the show. I finished cracking the iPhone software in Camden, gotta get a local SIM card so I can stop paying these outrageous AT&T roaming charges!

I've been watching Del drive on the left all day, anticipating getting used to that and hoping I can avoid a typical American wrong-side head-on event. I'll book a 3rd night at the Travelodge, but probably won't get much use of it, as we must leave London by 8AM Saturday to make the Dover ferry in time.

Meanwhile, London is charming and cute as ever, and I might stick around a while here after the tour is over and the boys go home, before doing the continent.
